Field Day including Instruction Course
To be held at Mitchells' Nursery
Field Day dates for 2010.
Saturday 10th April 2010, and Saturday 11th September 2010
These one day courses are designed to incorporate the latest technology of native cabinet timber plantings. This will enable private growers to take advantage of our latest technology covering nursery methods, plantation design and management. The day begins at 8am with lectures covering over 20 year of private plantation research. The afternoon will consist of visits to various plantings from newly established to near maturity. All the latest technology of planting design and management including pruning methods will be covered.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
Bookings are essential. Cost $88-00 inc GST
Forest farming Field Trip
Sunday 8th. August, 2010. 0900 - 1200.
Forest Farming uses a mixture of indigenous rainforest tree species to create a polyculture timber plantation with social, economic and ecological benefits. Our programme consists of a short presentation before we embark on our field trip to visit different locations. Our special guest on the day is Jack Mitchell from Mitchells Forest Farming who will discuss the finer points of establishing your own forest farm.
Morning tea will be provided.
